The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), launched in 1982, is a non-profit organization working to enhance the quality of life of communities through grassroots organization, skill-building, and partnerships, driving sustainable development, income growth, and democratic local governance.
Under the RENEW project (Recovery and Climate Resilience in Flood-Affected Areas of Pakistan), AKRSP invites applications from final-year undergraduate students at the following selected universities:
- Aga Khan University (Faculty of Arts & Sciences)
- Karakoram International University (Gilgit, Hunza, and Ghizer campuses)
- University of Chitral
Apply in groups of 5–10 students (with equal gender representation required), led by a department head. Groups must collectively represent at least two disciplines:
- Social Sciences / Humanities
- Environmental Studies
- Computer Science / AI
Selected groups will co-design curriculum modules for the “Pathways to Resilience” life skills program, emphasizing life skills for:
- Civic Engagement
- Climate Action
- Digital Integration and Ethical Use of AI
This opportunity enables you to contribute to locally led climate resilience while gaining practical experience in curriculum development.
Eligibility:
- Lived or study experience in Gilgit, Chitral, or Sindh
- Commitment to timelines and collaborative work
- Official approval and support from department head to mentor the group, review, and comment on the final module
