Key Achievements

AKRSP’s holistic approach to economic development has doubled incomes in the region while fostering a more resilient and dynamic economic environment. External evaluations by the World Bank recognised its effectiveness in driving sustainable income growth and improving livelihoods in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. By aligning with Future of Work trends and employing a demand-driven strategy, AKRSP actively engages industry stakeholders and employers in high-potential sectors to identify market needs and equip youth with employable and self-employment skills tailored to current market demands. Its efforts to promote entrepreneurship have empowered young people and aspiring business owners through comprehensive business development training, facilitated access to seed funding, and established market linkages, catalysing the growth of sustainable start-ups and enterprise development. AKRSP empowers small producers by strengthening local value chains, enhancing business support services, and improving access to markets. By bridging digital and physical connectivity gaps, it expands financial inclusion and creates new economic opportunities—driving sustainable local growth and reducing poverty across the region.
