The Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan, Ms. Maja Mortensen, visited the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) interventions in Thatta and Sujawal districts of Sindh to review progress under the Sindh Coastal Resilience Integrated Programme (SCRIP).
She was accompanied by Mr. Peter Emil Nielsen, Deputy Head of Mission; Mr. Hussein Tajani, Chairman AKRSP; and Mr. Akhtar Iqbal, CEO of the Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan (AKFP).
During the visit, the Ambassador was briefed on AKRSPโs integrated initiatives aimed at strengthening climate resilience in coastal communities, focusing on sustainable livelihoods, regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, and health and nutrition.
In District Sujawal, she inaugurated a community-level solar microgrid installed in a coastal village under the SCRIP project. The microgrid will provide uninterrupted and clean energy to 115 households, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and improving the quality of life of the local community.
